Giving Thanks

This Thursday is Thanksgiving, and I am thinking about all that I am thankful for as well as the delicious meal I will be sharing with family. I share my life with Kevin.  We are pretty much inseparable.  As does most everyone in this business, we live, eat, work and play together. He is my best friend and I am thankful for him every day. Love you Kevin.

Kevin's parents, John and Jo are great people.  It is easy for me to know why Kevin is a great man.  I have had the opportunity to get to know them very well.  Living and working with your in-laws is not always easy or fun, but we have made it work.  They get to go to Florida in December , and stay for a few months with their daughter Bonnie, son-in-law Joe, and grandson Dallas.  It is possible for them to do this because Kevin and I are able to take care of the Inn while they're gone.  It is a joint effort. Love you John and Jo.  Love you Bonnie, Joe & Dallas.

My mom, who will be 84 this coming April is in a wonderful care facility and she has a good mind.  Yes, her body is failing her a bit, but there is much to be said about a good mind.  I am able to ask her things about the old days and remind her of friends that have long passed.  She can enjoy her five great grand kids and laugh heartily at their silliness.  Love you mom.

I am thankful that I have three healthy children, who have three fantastic spouses and between them my five grand kids.  Michelle and Chris have Hayden and Brady and live in Wisconsin.  Jamie and Nick have Grant and Will and live near Peoria IL  Mitch and Abby have baby Braxton and live nearest to us.  Yes folks between Kevin and I we have six boys in the family.  They range in age from 10 to 1, and there is NEVER a dull moment with this many boys! Love you Chris and Michelle and boys, Jamie and Nick and boys and Mitch and Abby and son.

I am also thankful for you, the guests that have made the Brightwood Inn thrive. I have met so many wonderful people these past years. People that I truly consider my friends.  Some that I wish were my sister and brothers,(I don't have siblings), and some I think of as more of my own kids.  You have enriched my life in ways I can't explain.  I have learned so much from our guests and I have a lot more to learn.

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to my family and to all who have walked through the doors of the Brightwood Inn.
