BEAUTIFUL WEATHER AND FALL COLORS AT STARVED ROCK STATE PARK
Well the weather has been just near perfect this past week or so. Finally. We had a chilly summer and then brutal heat right up to the start of fall. The Wine Festival, Vintage Illinois, held last weekend in Matthiessen Park, which is just west of the Inn, was a grand success. Our guests said they enjoyed themselves tremendously. The wine was great, the bands were great and fun was had by all. They did have some major complaints about the food though. They suggested that next year we supply food for our guests so that they can have something decent to eat. I think we can do that easy enough.
We have been inundated with calls for October reservations. Fall colors have not really started yet. Just barely ...maybe. This weekend we have 2 rooms open Friday night, and none Saturday. October 4th there are 3 rooms open and none on Saturday. October 11th there are 2 rooms open and none on Saturday. October 18th there are 7 rooms open and 1 on Saturday. October 25th there are 2 rooms open on Friday and 2 on Saturday. So as of now, out of 90 possible weekend nights in October, 71 rooms are already filled.
If you're looking to come for fall colors, Friday, October 18th, or anytime during the week is your best bet. We are 4 minutes south of Starved Rock Sate Park on Route 178. The views from our rooms are breathtaking Call us soon to reserve your room.
